Course of Spatial Design for Human Life
This course provides specialized education on design methods to support people’s everyday lives from the aspects of architectural design and regional development. Modern-day living spaces are composed of facilities with various functions in a tangible sense and of diverse social activities in an intangible sense. The course fosters human resources who help people make their lives more affluent by connecting those tangible and intangible aspects organically.
Students acquire the following abilities and knowledge in this course:
- Basic plastic art expressions
- Knowledge of architectural design, urban development and regional revitalization based on the understanding of structures, cities and regional communities
- Ability to design high-quality structures, cities and regional communities
Students can focus on the following three fields:
Three major fields

Architectural/environmental design | This special field offers students education that connects architectural and environmental design. It fosters students’ power of expression and interpretability necessary for architectural and environmental planning and design based on surveys and analysis of the target region. |
Community design | This field aims to foster professionals in urban planning, town development, regional revitalization and regional community activities. Students acquire knowledge and design ability related to the above in a step-by-step manner. |
Comprehensive spatial design for human life | Students sharpen their sensitivity to a wide range of design including interior and temporary space, based on their learning in spatial design. In addition to the above, students’ ability to meet international and diverse social needs is fostered. |
Course of Communication Design for Human Life
This course provides specialized education on design methods for products and information that make people’s lives comfortable and pleasant. In this Course, students learn not only design methods and principles, but also art, psychology, human engineering, scientific technology, media creation and other disciplines in a comprehensive manner. This Course aims to foster students to be designers who can present “good relationships between people and things or people and society,” which is a mission of design in a creative and specific manner. Students can aim to be designers who can be active in a wide variety of design-related fields, instead of color, shape or other limited fields
Students can focus on the following three fields:
